ADEANKYE, BIBIANI — The Deputy Managing Director of Ghana Post Company Limited, Lawyer Stephen Kingsley Bennie, has donated prayer mats and undisclosed amount of cash in an envelope to the Muslim community at Adeankye, a suburb of Bibiani in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.

The donation is aimed at supporting worshippers at the newly constructed mosque, which, according to the community, was in need of prayer mats to enable congregants to worship in a more comfortable environment.

The presentation forms part of Lawyer Stephen Kingsley Bennie's philanthropic activities and his efforts to support religious communities and vulnerable groups within the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality.

Donation Inspired by Appeal

Speaking to the media after the presentation, Lawyer Stephen Kingsley Bennie explained that he was informed about the plight of the Muslim community at Adeankye.

According to him, he received a message that the newly constructed mosque lacked sufficient mats for prayers.

He said the appeal touched his heart, compelling him to respond by providing the needed mats to support the community.

Lawyer Bennie stressed that the gesture was motivated by his desire to contribute to the wellbeing of people in the community, regardless of their religious background.

He further explained that supporting communities and individuals in need forms part of his philanthropic activities.

Appeals for Prayers

Lawyer Stephen Kingsley Bennie used the occasion to appeal to the Muslim community to remember him in their prayers.

He also asked the Muslims to pray for President John Dramani Mahama, seeking God's guidance and protection for the President and those serving the country.

He expressed hope that the donation would help improve conditions for worshippers and strengthen the bond between the Muslim community and other stakeholders in the municipality.

Imam Commends Gesture

Receiving the prayer mats on behalf of the Adeankye Muslim community, the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Third Deputy Chief Imam, Imam Mohammad Nuhu, expressed appreciation to Lawyer Stephen Kingsley Bennie for the support.

He said the donation had come at an appropriate time, particularly as the mosque was in need of mats for worshippers.

Imam Nuhu described the gesture as an example of religious tolerance, unity and peaceful coexistence.

According to him, the donation has demonstrated that Muslims and Christians worship one God and can support one another despite their religious differences.

He prayed for God's blessings, guidance and protection for Lawyer Stephen Kingsley Bennie, his family and his associates.

Community Expresses Appreciation

Members of the Adeankye Muslim community also expressed their gratitude to Lawyer Stephen Kingsley Bennie for responding to their need.

They described the donation as timely and said the prayer mats would make worship more convenient for members of the community.

The beneficiaries further pledged their support for Lawyer Bennie should he decide to contest for any political position in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency in the future.

They commended him for extending his philanthropic activities to the Muslim community and urged other individuals and organisations to emulate his example by supporting communities in need.

The donation, they said, goes beyond the provision of prayer mats, describing it as a gesture that promotes unity, religious tolerance and stronger relationships among residents of the municipality.
