Change of Attitude Crucial to Building the Ghana We Want – Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II

Bibiani, Western North Region – The Paramount Chief of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area and President of the National House of Chiefs Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II has urged Ghanaians to adopt positive attitudes and uphold sound moral values to drive national development and transform the country.

The call was made on his behalf by Nana Kwadwo Somiah II, Abakomahene of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Chief of Ntakam in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality, and a tutor at Sefwi Bekwai Senior High School, during the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly's National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving held at the Trinity Assemblies of God Church in Bibiani.

The event, which was held under the theme, "Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want," brought together traditional authorities, religious leaders, government officials, security agencies, and residents to pray for God's guidance, peace, unity, and continued development of the nation.

Delivering the message of the Omanhene, Nana Kwadwo Somiah II emphasized that the progress of Ghana cannot be achieved through government policies alone but requires a collective change in mindset and a commitment by every citizen to uphold integrity, discipline, patriotism, and accountability.

He noted that many of the country's socio-economic challenges stem from negative attitudes, including indiscipline, corruption, dishonesty, and disregard for the rule of law. He therefore called on Ghanaians to become agents of positive change by demonstrating responsibility, hard work, and respect for one another in their daily lives.

He further urged parents, teachers, religious leaders, and traditional authorities to work together in instilling good moral values and discipline in the younger generation, stressing that the future of Ghana depends on raising responsible, patriotic, and law-abiding citizens.

On behalf of Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, Nana Kwadwo Somiah II commended the government for instituting the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, describing it as a timely initiative that encourages national reflection, spiritual renewal, and unity among Ghanaians regardless of their political, ethnic, or religious backgrounds.

He expressed optimism that if Ghanaians embrace the values of honesty, selflessness, accountability, and national unity, the country will be well-positioned to achieve sustainable development and build a prosperous future for generations yet unborn.
