Bibiani MTTD Conducts Operation to Secure Rider's Licenses for Tricycle Riders
The Bibiani Divisional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) personnel, led by ASP Emmanuel Osei, conducted an operation from September 23, 2025, to October 3, 2025, to intercept and educate tricycle riders without rider's licenses in Bibiani.
During the exercise, 150 coupons were issued to unlicensed riders who were apprehended and compelled to obtain rider's licenses from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
Additionally, 25 riders who were intercepted without licenses proceeded to the DVLA office on their own to secure the necessary licenses, bringing the total number of riders intercepted to 175.
The operation also resulted in the interception of 13 unregistered tricycles, which were made to secure registration coupons.
Furthermore, 12 tricycles were compelled to renew their insurance policies.
The exercise aimed to ensure compliance with traffic regulations and promote road safety in Bibiani. The MTTD personnel urged tricycle riders to adhere to the laws governing their operations to avoid future sanctions.
