Zongo Communities Deserve Quality School Infrastructure and Police Stations to Reduce Social Vices – Deputy Chief Imam

The First Deputy Chief Imam for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu Bamba, has called on the government to invest heavily in modern educational infrastructure and police stations within Zongo communities to help reduce social vices and improve the living conditions of residents.

According to him, many Zongo communities across the country continue to face serious developmental challenges, particularly in the areas of education, security, and social welfare, which he believes contribute significantly to the increasing involvement of some youth in criminal and anti-social activities.

Speaking in an interview, Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu Bamba explained that several Zongo communities lack adequate classroom facilities, learning materials, and other educational infrastructure necessary to provide quality education for children and the youth.

He noted that poor educational conditions negatively affect academic performance and reduce opportunities for young people, making some vulnerable to social vices such as drug abuse, theft, violence, and other unlawful activities.

“Education is the foundation of every successful society. When our children and youth do not have access to quality schools and proper learning environments, it affects their future and the development of the community,” he stated.

The Deputy Chief Imam further stressed that the absence of police stations and security infrastructure in many Zongo communities makes it difficult for law enforcement agencies to effectively maintain peace, law, and order.

According to him, establishing police stations within such communities would strengthen security, improve rapid response to criminal activities, and help build stronger relationships between residents and security agencies.

“Government must pay serious attention to Zongo communities by providing modern schools and police stations. When the youth get access to quality education and security is strengthened, social vices will reduce significantly,” he emphasized.

Alhaji Sulemana Iddrisu Bamba also called for equal distribution of national development projects, stressing that Zongo communities deserve the same access to good roads, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, clean water, and security infrastructure as any other community in the country.

He urged government agencies, politicians, non-governmental organizations, and community leaders to work together to address the developmental needs of Zongo communities and create better opportunities for the youth.

The Islamic leader further advised young people within the communities to remain disciplined, focus on education and skills training, and avoid activities that could tarnish their future and the image of their communities.

He expressed optimism that with proper investment in education, security, and youth empowerment, Zongo communities would experience significant progress and contribute positively to national development.
