W/N/R: Bibiani Forest Division has arrested 3 illegal miners and burnt 4 excavators at Ankwaso and Wasa Juabo Forest reserve

The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Forest Division, led by Mr Kobina Baiden in one of their usual operations to protect the forest reserve, has arrested 3 illegal miners at Wassa Ankwaso and Wasa Juabo and have set ablaze 4 excavators, 1 at Ankwaso and 3 at Juabo.

The 3 suspects have duly been handed over to the Sefwi Bekwai Police Command for further investigation and processing to court.

Mr Baiden speaking with Bibianinews.com further refuted claims that his team shot and wounded 2 persons in a warning shot at Juabo during their operations. 

According to him, there were announcements on an information center about Juabo calling residents to come and attack his team in the process of setting the excavators in the forest ablaze and this called for his men giving warning shots to scare the people.

He said his team had to sneak beside a taxi cab and log the illegal miners used to block the road to save their lives from being attacked by the people. 

Mr Baiden further said all these attacks and intimidation and diversionary tactics will not scare them, but they will form on to protect the Forest for the larger interest of mother Ghana.
