Western North: Police Sensitizes Commercial Drivers And Pragya Riders Ahead Of Easter Festivities

The Sefwi Bekwai District Police Command has sensitized commercial drivers and Pragya riders ahead of Easter festivities in Sefwi Bekwai, in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.

The Police says it has introduced stringent measures to provide adequate security to the residents ahead of the 2024 Easter celebrations.

In an interview with Bibianinews.com, ASP Samuel Ghartey, the Sefwi Bekwai District Commander expressed the police are working hard to ensure that all persons who travel for the celebrations do so in safety and added that it will also ensure that all events organised in various parts of Sefwi Bekwai are secured and incident-free.

He then encouraged the Pragya operators on their efforts to observe high safety standards, but there was still of the rising spate of accidents which was quite alarming in terms of overloading,over- speeding and alcohol in take, which they needed to be careful in their operations.

The Sefwi Bekwai GPRTU chairman, Mr. Kwabena Ebo (Big Ebo), used the medium to appeal to all drivers and passengers to be extra careful and adhere to road signs and regulations to reduce any casualties and avoid overspending, overloading, tramadol and alcoholic beverages.

Some drivers and Pragya riders, who the police sensitized, also commended the Ghana Police Service and promised to adhere to traffic regulations to prevent any calamity.
