Western North Forestry Commission Launches Tree for Life (T4L)  Program

The Western North Regional Forestry Commission has launched the Tree for Life (T4L) Program, aimed at restoring forest reserves. The program involves the distribution of tree seedlings from June 5 to 30, 2025, under the leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama and the NDC government.

According to the Western North Regional Forestry Manager, Mr. Stephen Asamoah Duah, the program seeks to replace lost vegetation in the forest, which has been degraded by illegal miners. The nationwide initiative aims to plant 30 million trees, with the Western North Region allocated 2,480,400 trees.

Mr. Duah urged everyone in the region to participate, noting that seedlings can be picked up at Forestry Commission district offices. He emphasized that protecting the forest is not just the government's responsibility but a collective effort.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dominic Gyasi, added his support, urging the public to protect the trees after planting and avoid felling down already planted trees. He noted that the government has purchased the tree seedlings, emphasizing the importance of preserving them.
