We Need Islamic SHS And University In Western North Region: Muslim Community Tells Vice President Bawumia  

The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and doubles as flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party,Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia is on a nationwide campaign tour to the Western North Regional capital, Sefwi Wiawso, as part of his bold solutions to move Ghana to the next level.

In contract the chief imams in the region, the Sefwi Boako chief Imam, Mr.Bashiru Gabo, who spoke on behalf of the Western North Regional Chief Imam, stated that the Muslim community need an Islamic Senior High School and University to equip their wards to secure the needed and better education, since it sometimes become financial difficult to parents to send their wards to other regions. He said the time has come for them to benefit from the Islamic SHS and also appealed to vice president to give their children scholarships to study at Cuba and to get professionals to help their communities and Ghana at large.

The vice president, Dr Alhaji Mahamud Bawumia, reiterated that, f the Islamic SHS is very important and will consult the Zongo development fund and the ministry of education for the needed support to establish the Islamic SHS. He added that, for the university, the clergy in the region have proposed to him and will appeal to them and Ghanaians to vote for him to get them the Islamic SHS and the university.

The NPP Western North Regional Chairman, Mr. Benjamin Armah, also appealed to the Muslim Community to support and vote for Dr. Alhaji Mahamud Bawumia to bring more developmental projects and social policies to help everyone.
