Sefwi Anhwiaso Sompahene to Sponsor Five Sefwi Students at Queens Girls SHS

The Sompahene of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Nana Krankye, has pledged to sponsor five Sefwi students to attend the Sefwi Anhwiaso Queens Girls Senior High School (SHS) as part of efforts to promote girls’ education in the traditional area.

Nana Krankye made the announcement during the official launch and commissioning of a newly constructed teachers’ bungalow at the school.

According to the Sompahene, the scholarship support is intended to encourage parents within the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area and surrounding communities to enrol their daughters at the school and give them the opportunity to pursue quality secondary education.

He stressed the importance of investing in girls’ education, noting that supporting young girls to acquire formal education would not only benefit their families but also contribute to the long-term development of the traditional area.

Sompahene Pledges Full Support for Headmistress’ Apartment

In addition to the scholarship initiative, Nana Krankye also pledged to bear the full cost of furnishing and decorating the Headmistress’ apartment within the school.

He promised to provide essential items needed to make the apartment comfortable and suitable for the Headmistress, including a television, bed, mattress, chairs and other items required for the decoration and furnishing of the bedroom.

The gesture, he said, forms part of his commitment to supporting the growth and development of Sefwi Anhwiaso Queens Girls SHS and ensuring that the school has the necessary facilities to attract and retain dedicated staff.

The pledge was met with appreciation from school authorities and stakeholders, who described it as a significant contribution towards improving the welfare of staff and creating a conducive environment for effective administration.

The newly constructed teachers’ bungalow was officially launched as part of broader efforts to address accommodation challenges facing teachers at the school.
