Safety First: Pragya Owners Urged to Equip Tricycles With Fire Extinguishers
The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Fire Service Commander, DOII Enoch Tetteh, is urging all pragya owners to provide fire extinguishers for their riders to help reduce fire-related incidents involving tricycles in the municipality.
Speaking in an interview, DOII Tetteh noted that the increasing number of fire outbreaks linked to poorly maintained or overloaded pragyas is becoming a major concern. He emphasized that equipping every pragya with a functioning fire extinguisher is a simple but effective way to save lives and protect property. He further appealed to owners to take the safety of their riders and passengers seriously by ensuring their machines are always in good condition.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Pragya Riders Association, Mr. Anthony Fiifi, has also made a strong appeal to pragya owners. He advised them to hand over their machines only to individuals who have adequate experience and proper knowledge on how to operate the tricycle safely. According to him, many accidents occur because some riders do not fully understand the mechanics or handling techniques of the vehicle.
Mr. Fiifi stressed that proper training and responsible supervision by owners will go a long way in reducing accidents and enhancing safety on the roads.
Both leaders are calling for collective responsibility to ensure the safety of riders, passengers, and other road users in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality.
