Alhaji Ben Ali Seaman the co-ordinator for New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth group Movement For Justice and Equal Right (MJER) in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency has admonished politicians to eschew politics of insults and rather focus on politics of ideas and data to solve the country’s problems.
“When you see a politician trying to talk, demand data to support what they are saying so let us focus on light, let us focus on data, let us eschew insults and propaganda and let us focus on solving problems that face this country on an everyday basis,” he said.
Speaking with Bibianinews.com, the former Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency NPP Organizer said some young political activists have copied their leaders blindly and resort to the use of insults on elderly persons instead of discussing relevant policy issues that will bring hope and relief to the youth of Ghana.
“Our values as Ghanaians demand that we give respect to all manner of people, especially the elderly and those in authority irrespective of which side of the political divide they belong,” he explained
He added that it is therefore unfortunate that we are gradually losing these precious values in the name of politics. There are thousands of young people who listen to what we the politicians say or do and are likely to be infected with this kind of politicking in Ghana.
He called on his colleague politicians who has been baptized in politics of insults to desist from it and advised the electorates to watch out for politicians who will present policies and programmes that will bring relevant education, employment and other socio-economic opportunities to the youth.
