Kuffour Camp: Parents urged prioritizing wards education

Parents and Guardians of Kuffour Camp in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region have been admonished to invest in their wards’ education.

Nana Oforiwaa Amanfo, the Queen mother of Manu-krom said this during the during the handling over ceremony of the Kuffour Camp D/A Basic School renovated by the old students Association to the school stressed that investing in the education of their children must be considered topmost priority over any other thing.

She bemoaned how some parents and guardians had the notion that investing their monies at banks, trading or doing other business are the best ways to get profits, since they want to be successful in the future.

However, she discourages that belief and added that investments in education should be seen as the biggest thing in order to bear its fruit in the future.

“At times we want to trade, we want to invest our monies at the Bank to get profits and at times want to do other businesses to earn profits and be successful in future but having a child is a blessing from God so investing in child’s education is very important and better than other investments that we do,” she stated.

Nana Baffour Gyau, Bibiani Abofrem Asuo Paamuu Kuffour also schooled parents not to see the investments they have made in their wards education as immediate profit but should project enjoying its return in some 10 or 15 years.

He said students should take time to reflect and get their priorities right.

“Hard work and study are the only tickets to what you perceive as a good life. , don’t let your background stand in your way. Work hard and doors of opportunities will open wide for you,” he advised.

On her part, the Assembly member for Kuffour Camp Electora Area Mr Zakaria Moro stressed the need for parents and guardians to take full responsibilities for their children’s education.

He thanked the old students’ Association for such an initiative to help to deliver quality education.

He takes the opportunity to request support from the government and other NGOs for sanitary facilities.
