Increase The New Cocoa Season Price To  6,000 GH Or In-cru Our Wrath__ Cocoa Farmers To Government

 The Aggrieved Cocoa Farmers in the Western Region are expecting the government to increase the amount from Gh 2,70.00 to Gh 6,000.00 in the 2024/2025 season starting in October of this year to meet in line with World Market value. 

As per their statement, their primary complaint is that the government has deceived the Farmers extensively, and they anticipate receiving the genuine increase this year or bear their losses. 

Speaking to the media at a press conference at Tarkwa Community Centre in the Western Region, the Huni Valley District Chief Farmer, Nana Boakye Thomas, stated that even the pension scheme for Cocoa Farmers has evaded the farmers for the past 40 years. 

He said, the pension scheme is need to be transparent to the farmer in the country. 

He added that they are also demanding a stoppage inputs supplied to Cocoa Farmers and also fixing of age old Cocoa roads. 

He also explained how the Cocoa Farmers nowadays are suffering in the country.
