Frontier Oil Ghana Limited has opened a new branch at Fawoade in Kumasi, reaffirming its dedication to quality customer service, operational excellence, and corporate social responsibility.

The Queen Mother of Fawoade in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Ku Amponsah, has strongly cautioned employers and managers—particularly men—against exploiting young women who are seeking employment.

She expressed concern over reports that some job owners demand sexual favours from women before offering them employment, describing the practice as immoral and harmful to both individuals and organisations. According to her, such behaviour destroys trust within the workplace and undermines the credibility of management.

“When employment is based on exploitation rather than merit, it weakens discipline and reduces respect for leadership,” she stressed. She added that companies thrive on integrity, fairness, and professionalism, and any form of misconduct at the managerial level negatively affects staff morale and productivity.

Nana Ku Amponsah made these remarks during the official opening ceremony of a new branch of Frontier Oil Ghana Limited at Fawoade. She praised the company for providing employment opportunities to young women in the community, describing the initiative as a step in the right direction toward youth empowerment and economic development.

She further appealed to the government and private sector institutions to expand job creation efforts to address the growing unemployment situation among the youth. According to her, gainful employment not only improves livelihoods but also reduces social vices and promotes community development.

Also addressing the gathering, Pastor Samuel Frimpong of the Assemblies of God, Fawoade Elohim Temple, advised the newly recruited staff to approach their duties with seriousness, honesty, and dedication. He emphasised that integrity is key in any business, especially in the fuel industry where trust is essential.

He cautioned workers against engaging in dishonest practices, urging them to dispense the exact quantity of fuel paid for by customers and to avoid any attempt to manipulate sales for personal gain. He noted that honesty and good customer relations would help sustain the company’s growth and reputation.

On his part, the Head of Operations of Frontier Oil Ghana Limited, Mr. Kwabena Owusu Bempah, reiterated the company’s commitment to quality customer service and community development. He explained that creating employment opportunities for the youth forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility strategy.

Mr. Bempah stated that while government efforts in job creation are commendable, the private sector also has a critical role to play in reducing unemployment. He revealed that Frontier Oil Ghana Limited has expanded significantly, establishing over 60 branches across the country to provide services and create jobs.

He encouraged the newly employed staff to be disciplined, punctual, respectful, and customer-focused, adding that their attitude towards work would determine their growth within the company.

Some of the young women employed at the Fawoade branch expressed heartfelt gratitude to the management of Frontier Oil Ghana Limited. They shared stories of the challenges they faced after completing school, including months and in some cases years of unsuccessful job searches.

They pledged to work hard, remain honest, and justify the confidence reposed in them by management. They also encouraged other young people to stay hopeful and take advantage of opportunities when they arise.

The event brought together community leaders, religious figures, company executives, and residents, marking what many described as a significant milestone for economic growth and youth empowerment in Fawoade and its surrounding communities.
