Empowering the Girl Child: “Don’t Trade Your Future for Indomie and Fried Rice” – Majid Ibrahim Advises Students
Sefwi Chirano, Ghana – Legal practitioner, Majid Ibrahim, has delivered a compelling and inspirational message to young people—particularly young women—urging them to take their education seriously and remain focused on building a meaningful future.
He made this call during the celebration of International Women’s Day at Sefwi Chirano Community Day Senior High School. The event was organized by Fonda Impact Global under the theme “Confidence Cycle: Give, Gain and Grow.”
Addressing students and participants, Mr. Ibrahim cautioned young ladies against distractions that could derail their academic and personal ambitions. In a candid and relatable tone, he warned against the dangers of short-term gratification, particularly from commercial motorcycle operators—popularly known as “okada” and “pragya” riders—who may attempt to influence young girls with gifts and food.
“Do not allow momentary pleasures like indomie and fried rice to destroy your future,” he stressed. “Your education is your greatest asset. Stay focused, build your confidence, and invest in your personal growth.”
He further encouraged students to cultivate discipline, self-respect, and a strong sense of purpose, emphasizing that education remains the most powerful tool for empowerment and independence. According to him, investing in the education of young women is essential to building stronger communities and a more progressive society.
The event brought together students, educators, and community members to celebrate the achievements of women while inspiring the next generation of female leaders. Through motivational speeches, mentorship sessions, and interactive discussions, participants were encouraged to embrace the cycle of giving, gaining knowledge, and growing into confident and responsible individuals.
The initiative by Fonda Impact Global continues to play a vital role in shaping the mindset of young people, particularly girls, by promoting education, confidence, and responsible decision-making.
As the program drew to a close, many students expressed appreciation for the impactful message, pledging to remain committed to their studies and personal development, and to make choices that will secure a brighter future.
