DRIP Department Begins Inner Road Reshaping in Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality
The Department of Roads Improvement Programme (DRIP) in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality has commenced the reshaping of selected inner roads within Bibiani as part of efforts to improve accessibility and ease traffic congestion in the municipality.
Speaking to the media, the Municipal DRIP Coordinator, Mr. Emmanuel Achampong, revealed that the road reshaping exercise began at Bibiani Kalifonia and has now extended from Nsuotem through Agenia to Kalifonia.
He explained that the project is strategically designed to create an alternative route linking Bibiani to the Kumasi highway, a move expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion at the Bibiani roundabout and improve vehicular movement within the town.
Mr. Achampong further emphasized that the department remains fully committed to improving road infrastructure across the municipality.
He assured residents that after the completion of the current works, the DRIP Department will continue to reshape other deplorable roads within the municipality to ensure smoother transportation, improved access to communities, and enhanced socio-economic activities.
He also used the opportunity to call on residents of the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality to continue offering prayers and support for the Member of Parliament (MP) and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), whose leadership and commitment, he noted, have contributed significantly to the initiation and smooth implementation of the project.
Residents of Nsuotem and Agenia have expressed profound appreciation to the government for the timely intervention.
According to the residents, the poor state of the roads had for years posed serious challenges, especially during the rainy season, affecting transportation, trading activities, and access to essential services.
They noted that the ongoing reshaping works have already brought relief and renewed hope to the communities.
The residents extended special gratitude to the leadership of the municipality and the “brilliant minds” behind the DRIP initiative for prioritizing their communities.
They praised the government and municipal authorities for their continuous support, responsiveness to the needs of the people, and strong commitment to improving road infrastructure and overall development in the area.
