Bibiani Trader Brutally Attacked and Robbed by Unknown Assailants

A 40-year-old trader, Ms. Ivy Kakyeri Ampong, residing at Bibiani Estate, has allegedly been attacked and severely injured by unknown assailants who stormed her room and robbed her of a substantial amount of money.

Narrating the incident to Hamza Mohammed, Ms. Ampong explained that the attack occurred while she was in her bedroom. The electricity had suddenly gone off, creating darkness, when the unidentified men entered her room armed with a cutlass. They inflicted deep wounds on her and forcibly took all the money in her possession.

According to the victim, the stolen money was not entirely hers. She serves as a leader for a group of women traders who take loans to support their businesses. After receiving the loan from the bank, the traders usually hand over their repayments to her, and she in turn returns the total amount to the bank so they can qualify for additional loans.

“I don’t even know how I will get money to go to the hospital for treatment,” she said, with tears. She added that she has not reported the incident to the police because she believes they may demand money from her before taking action.

Ms. Ampong is appealing for assistance from the public and authorities to seek medical treatment and recover from this traumatic experience.
