BIBIANI MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY, OKADA RIDERS ASSOCIATION INTRODUCE STICKERS TO IDENTIFY PRAGYA TRICYCLES
The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Okada Riders Association, has introduced an identification sticker initiative for Pragya tricycle operators in the municipality to improve identification and help address cases of theft.
The initiative is aimed at making it easier to identify registered Pragya tricycles and their operators, particularly when a tricycle is stolen or involved in an incident. The stickers are expected to serve as a useful identification tool for operators and relevant authorities.
Speaking on the initiative, Seth Akwasi Afrane, the Western North Regional Secretary of the National Union of Tricycle Operators, highlighted the importance of the exercise in promoting identification and helping to protect operators' property.
He explained that the initiative would help distinguish registered tricycles and make it easier to trace them when the need arises.
STICKERS TO HELP CURB TRICYCLE THEFT
Mr Anthony Fiifi Affum, Chairman of the Pragya riders, also underscored the importance of the identification stickers, describing them as a practical measure to help identify tricycles and recover stolen ones.
According to him, the usefulness of the stickers had already been demonstrated in a previous theft incident in which a Pragya tricycle stolen from Bibiani was later identified at Akota Forest.
He noted that the identification system could assist operators and the relevant authorities in tracing stolen tricycles and determining their ownership.
CALL FOR COOPERATION
The introduction of the stickers is expected to strengthen identification among Pragya operators and support efforts to address tricycle theft within the municipality.
The initiative also highlights the importance of cooperation between the Municipal Assembly, transport unions and tricycle operators in promoting safety and protecting the property of people who depend on tricycle operations for their livelihoods.
Operators are encouraged to cooperate with the relevant authorities and ensure that their tricycles carry the appropriate identification stickers.
The initiative is expected to contribute to improved identification and make it easier to trace tricycles when theft or other related incidents occur.
