2024 Green Ghana : Students advice to get involve in tree planting

Mr Augustine Ackon, the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly Presiding Member (PM) has urged children to participate in tree planting exercises to protect the environment.

Mr Ackon disclosed this on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) during the ceremonial tree planting at the Bibiani Government hospital to mark this year’s Green Ghana Day.

He emphasized that the theme “Green for Greener Tomorrow” is particularly significant for children, as they are the future leaders who will inherit the planet.

He stressed that the trees planted today are for the benefit of future generations, and encouraged children to take good care of them and echoed the importance of tree planting, highlighting the numerous benefits trees provide to humanity.

He cautioned that cutting down trees without replanting can have severe consequences and emphasized that it is everyone’s responsibility to plant and protect trees, as well as preserve our forests.

He used the opportunity to praise the government for introducing such project and promised the assembly readiness to support the District Forest Services Division to ensure the restoration of the depleted lands and forests.
