Queen Mother Urges Ghanaians to Rediscover Lost Culture and Traditions
The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Education Directorate recently organized an "Arts and Culture Festival" at Safwi Anwiam, a sub-community in the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area.
The theme of the festival was "Culture, a Tool for Consolidating Ghana's Democratic Gains."
The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Coordinator for Arts and Culture, Mr. Gyabeng Johnson Oliver, emphasized the importance of promoting Ghanaian culture and traditions among the youth. He stated that the festival aimed to holistically promote Ghanaian culture and traditions.
The Queen Mother of Sefwi Anwiam, Nana Ngesna Duah II, delivered a keynote speech, urging Ghanaians to come together to revive their lost culture and traditions.She emphasized that culture plays a significant role in the country's development.
Nana Ngesna Duah II specifically called on residents of Sefwi to practice their culture, particularly the use of the Sefwi language.
She also urged organizers of future events to incorporate the Sefwi language to promote cultural heritage.
