The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the DRIP Department, has undertaken a significant infrastructure intervention by filling dangerous manholes along River Asuwa. The project targets a critical stretch linking Bibiani Degede Mortar to Abesi-Nsuom, improving safety and accessibility for residents and commuters.

For years, the uncovered and deteriorated manholes posed serious risks to pedestrians, motorists, and traders who rely on the route for their daily activities. During heavy rains, the situation often worsened, making movement difficult and increasing the likelihood of accidents.

Speaking to the media, the Municipal DRIP Coordinator, Mr. Emmanuel Achampong, popularly known as “Legacy,” described the exercise as a timely and impactful initiative aimed at enhancing public safety and easing transportation challenges within the municipality.

According to him, the intervention forms part of broader efforts by the Assembly and the DRIP Department to respond to pressing community needs and improve local infrastructure. He emphasized that ensuring safe and reliable road networks remains a top priority, especially in fast-growing communities like Bibiani Degede, Nsuotem, and Abesi-Nsuom.

Residents of Nsuotem and Abesi-Nsuom have welcomed the development with excitement and relief. Many expressed gratitude to the Assembly and the DRIP team for addressing a long-standing issue that had affected their daily lives.

Some residents noted that the improved condition of the road will not only enhance safety but also boost economic activities in the area, as traders and transport operators can now move goods and services more efficiently.

The Municipal Assembly has assured the public of its continued commitment to infrastructure development and has called on residents to support and protect such projects to ensure their long-term benefits.

This intervention marks another step forward in the Assembly’s drive to promote development, safety, and improved living conditions across the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality.
