Wise Ladies Association in Sefwi Wiawso Donates Items to Municipal Hospital and Prison Inmates
The Wise Ladies Association in Sefwi Wiawso, Western North Region, has demonstrated yet another act of kindness by donating essential items to the Labour Ward of the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Hospital and to inmates at the Sefwi Wiawso Prison. The gesture, carried out earlier today, was aimed at showing care, compassion, and support for individuals in delicate and challenging conditions.
Speaking during the presentation, Madam Evelyn Awuah, CEO of the Wise Ladies Association, explained that the group was formed to support the needy and promote unity among women in the Sefwi area. She highlighted that the association is built on values such as love, care, sympathy, kindness, togetherness, and unity. Their focus, she said, is to build a strong and supportive community of women who uplift one another.
Madam Awuah emphasized the importance of empowering women and encouraging them to rise to their full potential without fear or interference. She reinforced this with the saying, “What men can do, women can also do—and even better.” She added that the association is open to all women who are willing to contribute to community development and join hands in helping the less privileged.
She revealed that the items donated—valued at GH¢20,000—included washing detergents, tissues, soft drinks, biscuits, baby diapers, and other important supplies. These items were distributed to mothers and babies at the Labour Ward, as well as to inmates who also benefited from the support.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, some midwives at the Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Hospital expressed their sincere appreciation to the association. They praised the Wise Ladies Association for their continuous support and for remembering the hospital, especially the Labour Ward, which often requires additional assistance due to high demand.
The midwives extended heartfelt gratitude to the association and encouraged them to continue with their good works, noting that such initiatives go a long way in improving healthcare delivery and providing comfort to patients.
