Bibiani, Western North Region – The Western North Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Michael Aidoo, popularly known as Chairman Big Aido, was unable to cast his vote during the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency NDC elections after his name could not be found in the booklet containing the list of delegates.

According to information gathered by Bibianinews.com, the names of regional and constituency-level delegates eligible to vote in the elections were compiled in a single booklet. However, Chairman Big Aido's name was reportedly missing from the list, preventing him from exercising his voting rights.

Efforts were made by an Electoral Commission (EC) officer, who accompanied the regional chairman to various polling centres to search for his name. Despite the search, his name could not be located in the booklet, and he was consequently unable to vote.

Despite the situation, Chairman Big Aido remained calm and did not engage in any confrontation with the election officials or other individuals at the polling centres.

Speaking in an interview with Bibianinews.com, the regional chairman emphasised the importance of unity within the party, noting that all the contestants belonged to the same political family, regardless of the outcome of the elections.

He stated that whoever emerged victorious would still be a member of the NDC, stressing that party members remained one family and should continue to work together.

His comments underscored the importance of maintaining unity, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among party members throughout the internal electoral process.

Meanwhile, Chairman Big Aidoo was moving around the Western North Region to observe proceedings and monitor how the constituency elections were being conducted.

His inability to vote because his name was missing from the delegates' booklet raised questions about the verification of delegates' lists and the need to ensure that all eligible voters are properly captured in official electoral records.

The incident highlights the importance of accurate delegate registration and effective verification procedures in ensuring a smooth and transparent internal electoral process.
