TILERS URGED TO BE HONEST AND PROFESSIONAL IN THEIR WORK

Tilers in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality have been urged to demonstrate honesty, commitment and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

The Sompahene of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area and Chief Executive Officer of DK Korankye Group of Companies, Nana Korankye, made the call during a tiling training programme organised by DK Korankye Company Limited in collaboration with Twyford Tiles for young people in the municipality.

Nana Korankye advised tilers to properly calculate the number of tiles required before commencing a project to avoid shortages and unnecessary delays.

He also urged them to desist from laziness and unserious attitudes, stressing the need for tilers to be truthful to their clients.

He cautioned tilers against taking away unused tiles from clients’ projects, saying such practices amount to dishonesty and can undermine public confidence in their work.

Meanwhile, the Ashanti, Western and Western North Regional Marketing Specialist for Twyford Tiles, Mr. Seth Mensah Quarshie, said the training forms part of efforts to equip young people in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality with the skills and knowledge needed to improve their tiling businesses.

He said the initiative is also aimed at encouraging tilers in the municipality to form an association where they can come together, share ideas and receive regular training to improve their professional standards.

Some of the tilers who participated in the training expressed appreciation to DK Korankye Company Limited and Twyford Tiles for the initiative.

They said the training had provided them with practical knowledge that would improve the quality of their work and benefit their businesses.

The participants also pledged to form an association to enable them to work together and organise similar training programmes on a regular basis.
