Black Starlets lose to Russia in the UEFA U-16 Invitational Tournament Open game
The Ghanaian U-16 national men’s team kicked started their U-16 Invitational tournament earlier this afternoon with a 3-1 defeat to host Russia in Volgograd.
The U-16 men’s team were impressive in the game, having played within a very good pattern laid down by head coach Laryea Kingston, but was not enough to fetch them a win in their first game.
The two-time defends will use this as a preparation for the U-17 WAFU zone B championship, which will be held in Ghana in the middle of next month and will also serve as a qualification to the African youth Championship.
The U-16 will hope to improve in terms of goals scoring -one huge part of their game that needs to be checked to make them actual force to reckon with. Ghana will play two more matches against Serbia and Kazakhstan to wrap up the competition.
