POLITICS: WE NEED A LEADER WHO CAN STABILISE OUR ECONOMY - LECTURER

Dr Kwame Asa Asante is a Political Science Lecturer at Legon. He has stated that Ghanaians need a leader who can help boost, stabilise our economy.

To him, the economy is everything for Ghana because a buoyant economy will lead to a decrease in youth unemployment, improved access to clean water, stable electricity, a better road network, and hospital facilities, among other things. 

Dr Asa Asante said we allow our leaders to go scot-free when they cannot honour their electioneering campaign promises, urging that we should shun favouritism and reject them in their next bid to lead us when they cannot walk their previous talk.

Touching on the National Pledge, he identified some points in it which our leaders have fallen short of in terms of faithfulness (fidelity). Service of Ghana has turned to cronyism, nepotism, favouritism and discrimination.
