Nana Baffour Gyau Celebrates Akwasidae, Offers Prayers for Bibiani Old Town, Zongo and Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area

Nana Baffour Gyau Sheran, has marked Akwasidae Festival with prayers for peace, unity, and the overall development of Bibiani Old Town, Bibiani Zongo, and the entire Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area.

The traditional ceremony brought together elders, sub-chiefs, queen mothers, traditional priests, and community members to observe the sacred rites and honour their ancestors.

During the celebration, Nana Baffour Gyau offered prayers for God's blessings and the guidance of the ancestors, asking for lasting peace, good health, protection, and prosperity for the people. He also prayed for accelerated development, improved infrastructure, successful businesses, quality education, and employment opportunities for the youth across Bibiani Old Town, Bibiani Zongo, and the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area.

He urged residents to remain united and support initiatives that promote growth and peaceful coexistence, stressing that development can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Priest of Asuo Mpokuampa and Asuo Paamu explained that Akwasidae is a sacred day dedicated to remembering and honouring the ancestors for their protection, guidance, and blessings upon the land and its people.

According to him, the observance is an opportunity to seek the ancestors' continued favour and wisdom while reminding the younger generation of the need to preserve their cultural heritage and respect traditional customs.

The Akwasidae Festival continues to serve as an important symbol of unity, cultural identity, and spiritual renewal, bringing together the people of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area to reflect on their heritage and pray for a brighter future.
