Mahama To Launch 24-Hour Economy Wednesday July 2
Ghana’s much-anticipated 24-Hour Economy policy officially launches today, Wednesday, July 2, marking a bold step toward economic transformation, increased productivity, and job creation through round-the-clock operations in key sectors.
A flagship initiative of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the policy aims to promote continuous, shift-based work in critical industries including manufacturing, agro-processing, healthcare, transportation, and retail.
Touted by the government as a “game changer,” the 24-Hour Economy is expected to generate thousands of new jobs, boost national output, and unlock value across supply chains. Participating companies will benefit from incentives such as tax breaks, stable electricity supply, and enhanced nighttime security.
Speaking at the launch event, Presidential Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy, Goosie Tanoh, outlined the policy’s framework, highlighting three core pillars: transforming production, improving supply chains and market systems, and strengthening human capital.
