Just In: Two Galamseyers Drown In Abandoned Galamsey Pit At Sefwi  

Two people believed to be illegal miners have drowned in a mining pit at Sefwi Aborekofe in the Sefwi Juaboso District of the Western North Region.

The deceased were identity as Kwabena Bour 19 and Oliver Ntaadu (Junior) for 15 years.

According Modestus Appiah, uncle of Junior who spoke in an interview with Bibianinews.com, said he received a phone call from someone that his nephew went to the abandoned gallamsay site with six boys to search for gold and after close from work they swam and cross the driver and on their way five of them could cross it but his nephew (Junior) was not luck on his side trapped in the deep side so Kwabena Bour attempted to save him also slipped into the deepest side of it so he died and his body was removed and has been deposited at the Sefwi Juaboso Government hospital pending autopsy but his nephew (Junior’s) body has not yet retrieve and authorities have Organised a search party for the lifeless body.

He confirmed to Bibianinews.com that it’s not a river but an abandoned Chinese galamsey pit that trapped the two.
