Employees Must Uphold Discipline and Treat Their Jobs as Their Own Businesses – Nana Assilfie Gyan III
Nana Assilfie Gyan III, Akyeamehene of the Ewutu Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region, has urged employees across the country to adhere strictly to workplace rules and regulations and to approach their duties with dedication and a sense of ownership.
According to the traditional leader, workers must regard the organizations they serve as their own businesses and discharge their responsibilities with honesty, commitment and professionalism.
Nana Assilfie Gyan III gave the advice during the official launch of the Ablekuma Branch of Frontier Oil Ghana Limited in the Greater Accra Region.
He stressed that discipline and hard work remain essential ingredients for the success and growth of every institution, emphasizing that employees have a crucial role to play in ensuring the sustainability of businesses.
The Akyeamehene cautioned workers against negative attitudes such as habitual lateness, theft, laziness and other forms of misconduct that undermine productivity and hinder the progress of organizations.
He further advised employees to maintain confidentiality and avoid discussing internal matters of their workplaces in public, noting that issues concerning an organization should be handled professionally and through the appropriate channels.
"Workers must cultivate a strong sense of responsibility and commitment. They should treat the businesses they work for as their own and avoid practices that could tarnish the image and reputation of their employers," he stated.
Nana Assilfie Gyan III also encouraged employers to create conducive working environments that motivate employees to give off their best while fostering mutual trust and respect between management and staff.
He commended Frontier Oil Ghana Limited for expanding its operations and creating employment opportunities for Ghanaians, describing the opening of the Ablekuma Branch as a significant contribution to economic growth and community development.
The event attracted traditional leaders, industry players, transport operators and residents, who praised the company's commitment to delivering quality petroleum products and promoting socio-economic development.
