The Ekom Eya Co-operative Small Scale Miners Association in Bibiani has handed over a newly constructed three-unit classroom block with an office and dual desks to the Bibiani Ansaru Deen Islamic School as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Adu Gyamfi, said the gesture reflects the group’s commitment to supporting education and improving the lives of people in mining communities.
“As miners, we understand the importance of giving back to society. Our contribution to education is an investment in the future of our children and our community. We believe that every child deserves a decent learning environment,” Mr. Gyamfi stated.
He added that the association will continue to collaborate with local authorities and community leaders to identify more areas where they can make meaningful impact through sustainable social projects.
Receiving the facility on behalf of the school, the Headteacher, Mr. Abdul Hamid Diko, expressed profound appreciation to the association for the timely intervention. He noted that the new building, furnished with dual desks and an office for administrative work, will help reduce overcrowding and enhance teaching and learning.
“This new classroom block has come at a very crucial time. Our school population keeps increasing, and this facility will provide a more comfortable space for both pupils and teachers,” Mr. Diko said.
He also appealed to other organizations and individuals within the Bibiani Municipality to emulate the good example set by the Ekom Eya Co-operative Small Scale Miners Association by supporting the educational needs of children.
The event was attended by representatives of the Bibiani Municipal Education Directorate, community leaders, school staff, and executives of the Co-operative Association. Attendees commended the miners for their continued commitment to community development and education support.
