Immam Mohammed Nuhu, the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Third deputy chief Imam who doubles as the Administrator for Madrasatul Hikmatul Islamiyya Islamic School at Hwenampire a suburb of Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region has stated that fasting during Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam, along with the testimony of faith, prayer, charitable giving, and making a pilgrimage to Mecca.

During an interview with Bibianinews.com after school organized Quran recitation for students as they prepare for the Holy Month of Ramadan. He explained that all Muslims are required to take part every year, though there are special dispensations for those who are ill, pregnant or nursing, menstruating, or traveling, and for young children and the elderly.

He said the Holy Quran holds paramount significance in the lives of Muslims worldwide. As the divine revelation from Allah, it serves as a guide for personal development, spiritual growth, and moral enlightenment.

Immam Mohammed added that reciting the Holy Quran daily is not only a religious obligation, but also a source of immense blessings and benefits.

He stressed that the Holy Quran, regarded as the last revelation of Allah to humanity, holds a central position in the Islamic faith.

The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Muslims Council chairman again explained that Muslims believe it to be the word of Allah as conveyed through the Angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Muslims believe that reciting and contemplating it are acts of worship, bringing individuals closer to Allah and facilitating a deeper understanding of His guidance.

He said that regular recitation enables Muslims to seek answers to their questions and find guidance in various aspects of life. It provides a roadmap for righteous living, encouraging individuals to make informed decisions and act in accordance with Islamic principles.
