Students of Asante Gold Bibiani Limited Basic School (AGBL) have paid an educational visit to the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Ambulance Service to gain firsthand knowledge about emergency medical services and the critical role ambulance personnel play in saving lives.

The visit formed part of the school's practical learning activities aimed at exposing students to essential public services and career opportunities within the health sector.

Welcoming the students, the Officer in Charge of the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Ambulance Service, Senior Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Danies Kwesi Gyemah, commended the school for organizing the visit. He described the initiative as timely and highly beneficial, noting that it would help the students better understand the operations of the National Ambulance Service.

According to him, many members of the public mistakenly believe that all ambulances serve the same purpose. He used the opportunity to educate the students on the various types of ambulances and their specific functions in emergency response and healthcare delivery.

Senior Advanced EMT Gyemah further explained the essential equipment found in ambulances and demonstrated how emergency medical personnel respond to accident scenes, transport critically ill patients, and provide life-saving care before patients arrive at the hospital.

He encouraged the students to take their studies seriously and consider careers in emergency medicine and other healthcare professions, emphasizing the importance of service to humanity.

During the interactive session, the students expressed excitement and appreciation for the opportunity. They shared that the visit had broadened their understanding of ambulance operations and corrected several misconceptions they previously had about emergency services.

Some students noted that they had learned about the differences between various ambulance types, the equipment used by paramedics, and the importance of calling an ambulance during emergencies rather than attempting unsafe transportation methods.

School authorities also praised the Bibiani Ambulance Service for warmly receiving the students and providing such an insightful educational experience.

The visit is expected to inspire many of the students while deepening their appreciation for the invaluable work performed by emergency medical professionals in the community.
