“Let’s work together as a team to accomplish the aim and objective of the assembly; - Hon. Paul Andoh

The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Paul Andoh has stated that one of the core pillars of Ghana’s decentralization drive is the full participation of the representatives of the local people in the decision-making process in our respective assemblies across the country.

This assertion brings to the fore the crucial roles Assembly Members play in the deliberative and legislative functions of the all metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies in Ghana.

Hon Paul Andoh said this during his welcome address at inaugurating the 9th Assembly of the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly held on Monday, 12th February 2024, at the Municipal Assembly Hall.

“I wish to take this opportunity to assure all the elected and appointed Assembly members that, as the Municipal Chief Executive of this great assembly, I am prepared to work in tandem with every member of the house irrespective of their perceived political affiliations in order to execute the development agenda for the benefit of the people in this Municipality. I know that, my success as the Municipal Chief Executive is fundamental tied to your success Assembly members who are hungry to serve the populace and I have complete confidence that you will discharge your duties as enshrined inspection 16 of the Local Government Art, 2016(936 as amended) with a touch of enthusiasm, reliability, diligence, professionalism and responsiveness to your people in your electoral areas in particular and the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality at large; he said.

We should remind ourselves that in this country, the things that bring us together are stronger than the things that divide us. We rise or fall together as one people with a common destiny.

I must also confess that I am motivated by the caliber of persons who have been elected and appointed to serve as Assembly members, and I have no doubt in my mind that every member will work to justify the confidence and trust the electorates have placed in them.

He used the opportunity to congratulate the Elected members for emerging as victors during the elections at the various electoral areas. He also congratulates the appointed members on their appointments.
