The Diocesan Catholic Bishop of Sefwi Wiawso, Bishop Samuel Nkuah Boateng, has advised parents and guardians to invest in their children’s education instead of lavishing money on buying unprofitable materials that will not have any future benefit to society.
According to him, children will play important roles in the future if given good education.
Stating his reason, he said educating children is very key and integral if the country wants to achieve development and rub shoulders with her counterparts on the global stage.
He reiterated that parents should support their wards in school for a better tomorrow rather than lavishing monies in buying guns, and ‘arrows Man-Diesel.’
Speaking with bibianinews.com at Bibiani after the official opening ceremony to mark 2024 World Union of Catholic Women Organization (WUCWO) under the theme: World Union of Catholic Women Organization; Artisans Of Human Fraternity For World Peace" Bishop Nkuah emphasised the need for parents to commit themselves towards the education of their children, saying it is the best investment any parent can ever make.
He further advised parents to desist from investing their capital on unprofitable ventures and channel such resources into their wards’ education.
The Municipal National Commission for Civic Education NCCE Director madam Martha Nneka Opara, commended the Roman Catholic Church for Organising such program and called on women to always remember their role as supporters and builders of the home-front.
“As women, we should understand that as we care for others, support our husbands, and protect our families, the place of God is very crucial and should not be underestimated. We shouldn’t lose our self-esteem because of the modern age,” she counseled.
