A tragic motor accident at Anhwiaso in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region has claimed the life of a respected educationist, Mr. Abdullah Osman, Headmaster of Subrinkwanta–Kojinah Anglican Primary School.

Mr. Osman, aged 37, was reportedly on his way to school when the unfortunate incident occurred. According to the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service at Bibiani, he was knocked down by a speeding Sprinter bus.

The vehicle, bearing registration number AS 6349-18, was being driven by 29-year-old Obed Opoku, who was travelling from Sefwi Bekwai towards Kumasi at the time of the accident.

Mr. Osman sustained critical injuries following the collision and was rushed for medical attention. However, he sadly succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a grieving family, colleagues, and community.

The late headmaster is survived by his wife and four children. His first child is 9 years old, while his youngest is just 4 months old.

His passing has sent shockwaves across the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality, particularly among teachers and students who knew him as a dedicated and passionate educator. Tributes have begun pouring in from colleagues, former students, and members of the education fraternity who remember him for his commitment to shaping young minds.

Teachers within the municipality, as well as former students of Sefwi Wiawso College of Education (WATICO), have been invited to join the bereaved family to mourn and pay their last respects.

Mr. Osman’s untimely death is yet another reminder of the increasing road accidents in the country and the need for stricter adherence to road safety regulations.
