Good Governance Ensured a Peaceful and Joyful Christmas – Mrs. Sakina Oforiwaa
Mrs. Sakina Oforiwaa, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Government Appointee in the Atwima Mponuah District of the Ashanti Region and a Regional Communication Team Member, has stated that the good governance and leadership of President John Dramani Mahama played a significant role in ensuring a peaceful and joyful Christmas celebration across the country in 2025.
She made this remark at the inaugural ceremony of the NDC Youth Group, Nyame Nsawom Fun Club, held at Obuasi Krom in the Atwima Mponuah Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
The event brought together party executives, youth members, and community stakeholders to officially launch the group and outline its objectives.
According to Mrs. Oforiwaa, effective leadership, peace, and inclusive governance have created an enabling environment for citizens to celebrate important festivities such as Christmas without fear or economic hardship.
“Because of President John Dramani Mahama’s good leadership, essential items such as rice, cooking oil, chicken, and other commodities were sold at relatively lower prices compared to the previous government. This clearly shows the difference between this government and the former one,” she stated.
She commended the youth for their dedication and hard work during the 2024 general elections, which contributed significantly to the NDC’s victory.
Mrs. Oforiwaa further praised them for organizing themselves to support development at the grassroots level and urged them to remain disciplined, united, and committed to national progress.
“The peace and stability we enjoyed during the Christmas festivities are a direct result of good governance. When leadership prioritizes the welfare of the people, celebrations become meaningful and enjoyable for everyone,” she added.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Association, Mr. Abu Seidu, expressed his gratitude to Mrs. Oforiwaa and other party leaders for their continuous support.
He explained that the Nyame Nsawom Fun Club was established to promote unity among NDC youth in the Obuasi Krom electoral area and the Atwima Mponuah Constituency, enhance political education, and contribute to community development.
Mr. Abu assured members and supporters that the group would remain focused on its mission and work tirelessly to support the party’s vision at both the constituency and national levels.
Also addressing the gathering, the Secretary of the Association, Mr. John Akwasi Ayebo, emphasized the importance of youth participation in politics and governance. He encouraged members to be law-abiding, proactive, and respectful, noting that the future development of the constituency largely depends on the commitment and discipline of its youth.
The ceremony concluded with a call for unity, peace, and active engagement as the Nyame Nsawom Fun Club officially commenced its activities in the Atwima Mponuah Constituency.
