Bassengele, a community in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region, came alive as the Concern Youth of Bassengele officially launched their association, marking a renewed commitment by the youth to promote community development, social welfare and youth empowerment.

The colourful launch event attracted community members, opinion leaders and the youth, all united by a shared vision of improving living standards within the Bassengele Electoral Area.

Addressing the gathering, the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Mr. David Ayisu, popularly known as Kobby, outlined the core objectives of the association.

He explained that the Concern Youth of Bassengele was formed to support the needy and vulnerable in the community, including widows, the aged and less-privileged families. He emphasized that beyond social support, the association is determined to address youth unemployment by encouraging and assisting young people to acquire artisanal and vocational skills.

According to Mr. Ayisu, the association plans to guide interested youth into trades such as carpentry, masonry, tailoring, welding and other income-generating ventures, noting that skills development remains a sustainable pathway to economic independence and community growth.

The Vice President of the association, Mr. Prince Okyere Darko, used the occasion to call on all natives of Bassengele, particularly those living and working in major cities, to reconnect with their roots and support the association’s vision.

He stressed that development is a collective responsibility and urged well-meaning natives to contribute their ideas, expertise and resources to help uplift the community.

“Our brothers and sisters in the cities have a crucial role to play. When we come together as one people, we can bring lasting development to Bassengele,” he said.

In a similar vein, Mr. Christopher Bonya, a member of the association, appealed for sponsorship and partnerships to support the implementation of the group’s planned activities.

He called on philanthropists, corporate institutions, non-governmental organisations and individuals to provide financial and material support, explaining that such assistance would greatly enhance the association’s outreach programmes and youth training initiatives.

The launch of the Concern Youth of Bassengele Association reflects a strong sense of unity, purpose and commitment among the youth of the community.

The association has pledged to work closely with traditional authorities, community leaders and other stakeholders to promote peace, self-reliance and sustainable development in Bassengele.

Delivering a goodwill message, the Assembly Member for the Bassengele Electoral Area, Hon. Solomon Nkansah, on behalf of Nananom and the entire electoral area, commended the youth for forming such a progressive association.

He advised the leadership and members to ensure that the association remains non-partisan, avoids political divisions and upholds mutual respect and unity at all times.

The leadership of the association expressed optimism that with dedication, unity and external support, the Concern Youth of Bassengele will emerge as a driving force for positive change within the community and beyond.
