The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Hon. Sebastian Obeng, has expressed excitement following the government’s announcement of the upcoming disbursement of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF). He described it as a vital step toward boosting local development.

“DACF flows in—and I’m thrilled!” Hon. Obeng said during a press briefing. Although the funds have not yet been released, he noted that the official announcement signals strong intent and commitment from the government.

Hon. Obeng highlighted the significance of the DACF disbursement, stating that the current government’s initiative is a stark contrast to the previous administration. “Unlike the previous government, which paid only GH₵ 29,492.00, the John Mahama-led administration is committing GH₵ 25 million,” he said.

He emphasized that this substantial increase will enable the Assembly to execute projects effectively. “With this amount, we’ll know the exact contract sums, allowing us to engage suitable contractors and ensure proper supervision,” Hon. Obeng explained.

The MCE assured that the Assembly will strictly adhere to the government's guidelines for utilizing the fund. Key sectors such as healthcare, security, education, and infrastructure will receive necessary attention.

Residents welcomed the announcement with optimism. “We’ve been waiting for these funds for a long time,” one resident said. “This gives us hope for real progress in our community.”

Hon. Obeng assured the public that the Assembly is ready to deploy the funds transparently and accountably once received. “We’ll ensure that every pesewa is used for its intended purpose,” he affirmed.

He thanked the government for reinforcing decentralization and local empowerment principles. “This announcement reflects their dedication to strengthening local governance,” Hon. Obeng noted.

The anticipated disbursement is expected to inject new energy into the municipality’s development agenda. “It will allow us to fast-track key projects and meet our development targets,” Hon. Obeng added.

Residents expressed excitement over the potential impact. “We look forward to improved roads, better healthcare, and more opportunities for our youth,” another resident commented.

Hon. Obeng reiterated his readiness to lead effective fund utilization once released. “I assure the people of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai of massive development under my watch,” he said, calling for continued support for the government’s initiatives.
