W/N: A sheep delivers twin lamb, with one having two separate heads, four eyes, two ears, and four legs at Sefwi Wenchi

Fifty-five-year-old farmer, Mame Adwoa Abrefi and the entire Sefwi Wenchi Community near Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region were flabbergasted when a sheep belonging to Mame Abrefi delivered a twin lambs with one having two separate heads, four eyes, two ears, and four legs.

According to Mame Abrefi, she has been rearing the animals for the past ten years and had not experienced such mystery before, adding that a spiritualist and a Prophet in the area have attributed the happening to a river goddess which according to them is angry with the people in the area because they don’t give reverence to it.

She explained how it all happened and steps she has taken to ensure no bad omen befalls them.

Dr Emmanuel Kingsley Bassaw, officer at the Municipal veterinary Department, attributed three things, namely; heavy metals used by gallamsey operators, inbreeding, and administering drugs to the animals without seeking advice from the veterinary outfit could cause that.

He then called on stakeholders to intensify the fight against illegal mining in the area to get rid of these deformities which can manifest in humans.
