SOCIAL: You are agents of Peace; pursue it for the world to enjoy - Bishop Samuel Nkuah Boateng
Bishop Samuel Nkuah Boateng, the Diocesan Catholic Bishop of Sefwi Wiawso, has told women to stand firm to embark on massive evangelism because they are agents of transformation, peace and tranquility.
Bishop Nkuah Boateng brought this to bear at Bibiani during the official opening ceremony to mark the World Union of Catholic Women Organization , (WUCWO) under the theme; “World Union of Catholic Women Organization; Artisans of human fraternity for world peace”.
According to him, WUCWO was initially established in 1910 to ensure there is total peace and stability in the entire world before 1914 to 1918 World War.
Bishop Samuel Nkuah Boateng further urged the Catholic Women Association drawn from the entire Western North Region to Bibiani to seek for lasting peace devoid of all negative acts that could lead to misunderstanding between neighbors and families, adding that all and sundry should apply the Golden Rule; ‘Do unto others what you would want them do unto you’ to enhance massive peace and tranquility in the country.
The President of the National House of Chiefs and paramount chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso traditional area, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll, who was the guest speaker of the occasion eulogized women for the motherly love they always exhibit to human Kind , urging them to continue with their parental care especially in times like this to support their husband as they usually do.
Rev.Father Osei Bour, the Western Roman Catholic Women Chaplin advised parents to be more responsible and desist from wasting money on buying funeral clothes and others and invest such a resource in their children’s future, especially in the area of education.
He said quality education called for sacrifice, stressing that investing in the education of the child was necessary to address child delinquency, and other irresponsible behaviour on the part of children who did not have a proper upbringing.
According to him, education was a shared responsibility, and a country that failed to develop its people intellectually faced the challenge of opting out of the ‘global village’ where knowledge and transformation were the order of the day.
Mrs.Agnes Nyame, the Catholic Women Organization President on behalf of her members, thanked God for a successful program and promised that they will take whatever they have learnt seriously and put it in to practice.
