Key Highlights of the 2025/26 Season:
Premier League: Regular matches will be played on Sundays, with midweek slots reserved for outstanding fixtures.

Division One League & Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League: Both retain Sunday matchdays.

MTN FA Cup: Most matches will take place on weekends, though select fixtures in the Round of 64 and Round of 32 may be played midweek.

Women’s FA Cup: All matches will be played exclusively on weekends.

eTrophy (GFA eFootball Competition): The digital competition returns, providing a pathway to the national eFootball team.

Beach Soccer & Futsal Premier Leagues: These competitions continue as part of the GFA’s expanded sporting portfolio.

Regional Football Structure:
All Regional Football Association (RFA) leagues — including Division Two, Division Three, Regional Women’s Division One, and the Colts (U13, U15, U17) — are set to begin on or before October 1, 2025, and end by May 31, 2026.

Girls Colts Expansion:
Following successful pilot programs in the Northern and Greater Accra Regions, the GFA will implement a nationwide rollout of the Girls Colts competitions (U15 and U17) during the 2025/26 season. The initiative is supported by FIFA’s Women’s Football Development Programme and the Ten Regional Football Associations (RFAs).

Off-Season Tournaments:

The calendar also accommodates several elite youth and development tournaments, including:

Elite U15 Girls Championship

Elite U19 Second Division Championship

Boys U15 Elite Competition

KGL Foundation U17 Colts Championship

To support early planning, the GFA has also released key administrative timelines, including club registration periods and the 31st GFA Annual Congress.
