Energy Commission Sensitizes Bibiani Electricians and Inspectors on Digitization of the Installation Completion Certificates(ICC)
The Energy Commission has embarked on a significant shift from traditional paper-based Installation Completion Certificates ICC to a digital platform, (ICC). This move is expected to enhance efficiency, speed, and accuracy in service delivery for certified electricians and inspectors.
At a recent workshop held in Bibiani, participants from Bibiani, Anhwiaso, Bekwai, Diaso, and Nyinahin were introduced to the new digitized process. Senior Officer of the Energy Commission, Mr. Fred Adjei Brobbey, delivered the opening address, emphasizing the importance of the transition. He highlighted the benefits of the digitized system, urging participants to cooperate fully with the new requirements.
“The switch to a paperless system is not just a technological advancement, but a critical step in improving service delivery and ensuring a better customer experience,” Mr. Brobbey said. He further reassured the attendees of the Commission’s commitment to continue organizing periodic training and sensitization programs to keep electricians and inspectors updated on industry standards and innovations.
The new digital platform, known as the Installation Completion Certificate Application (ICCApp), allows electricians and inspectors to submit ICCs online, simplifying the process and reducing paperwork. The initiative aligns with the Energy Commission’s broader goal of leveraging technology to improve efficiency and transparency in its operations.
Participants were given an opportunity to ask questions after the presentations, with facilitators ensuring that all concerns were addressed. The workshop was facilitated by Senior Officers Mr. Selorm Tsakawo and Mr. Kojo Ebenezer Asaam, who guided attendees through the technical aspects of the new system.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Mustapha Frimpong, Western North Regional Energy Commissioner, expressed his gratitude to the organizers for the successful event. He encouraged participants to spread the word about the new system and urged uncertified electricians to seek proper training to meet industry standards.
“Uncertified electricians must take this opportunity to get the necessary certification before undertaking any electrical work. This will not only improve the quality of work but also ensure safety and compliance with regulations,” Mr. Mustapha said.
Some participants, speaking to Hamza Mohammed after the training, expressed optimism about the new system, noting that the training had enhanced their understanding and confidence in their work. They believed the digitization of the meter application forms would ultimately lead to more efficient and reliable services for their customers.
