Education: Sefwi Bekwai SHS headmistress retires after 35-yeras of dedicated service

Mrs. Rejoice Elikplim-Ofori, the headmistress of Sefwi Bekwai Senior High School in the Western North Region, has officially retired from the Ghana Education Service (GES) after 35 years of dedicated service. 

A farewell ceremony was held in her honor, attended by notable figures such as the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive, Western North Regional Director of Education, and members of the school community.

Nana Kofi Taah, the Dwantuahene of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area on behalf Sefwi Bekwai Paramount Chief praised Mrs. Elikplim-Ofori's visionary leadership, which transformed the school into an institution of excellence.

He highlighted her relentless pursuit of excellence and ethos that have become ingrained in the school's fabric, leaving a lasting legacy.

Mr. Emmanuel Kwaku Kwarteng, representing the Regional Director of Education, commended Mrs. Elikplim-Ofori's leadership, describing it as caring, visionary, patient, and loving.

He thanked her for her years of service, noting that her legacy extends beyond the school's academic records to the lives and memories of the students and staff.

In her farewell speech, Mrs. Elikplim-Ofori expressed gratitude to individuals and organizations that supported her throughout her tenure.

She recounted her cherished memories, highlighting the school's achievements in academics, discipline, teacher quality, and community engagement.

However, she also noted the school's challenges, including inadequate staff accommodation, classrooms, and a dining hall, and appealed for urgent support.

Mrs. Elikplim-Ofori's retirement marks the end of an era, but her legacy will continue to inspire future generations of students and educators.

Her dedication to the school's growth and development has created a lasting impact, and her contributions will be remembered for years to come.
