C/R: GOMOA OKYEREKO RICE FARMERS SUPPORT WITH 589 FERTILIZER AFTER FLOODING INCIDENT.
The Gomoa East Assembly, led by District Chief Executive Hon. Margaret Naana Ackom, has supported over 50 farmers affected by a recent flooding incident at Gomoa Okyereko in the Gomoa East District. The flooding occurred after NAG Fairmount Construction Limited opened the blockage of the main bridge, damaging over 100 acres of rice farms.
As previously reported by Oyerepa News Correspondent Nana Ansah, the affected rice farmers had appealed to the government for compensation, citing the loans they had taken to start their farms. Following the farmers' plea, the DCE visited the scene, pledged her support, and has since provided the farmers with 589 fertilizers.
In an interview with Nana Ansah, Hon. Margaret Naana Ackom encouraged the farmers not to lose hope, assuring them that the assembly would support them in getting back on their feet. Meanwhile, some of the victims have expressed their appreciation and thanked the government for this laudable support.
