Bibiani YEA Director joins the nation in mourning the passing of Dr. Omane Boamah, Dr. Murtala Mohammed, and six others
The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Director, Mr. Adams Smith, has joined the rest of the nation in mourning the tragic loss of Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment, Science, and Technology Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, and six others who died in a military helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Speaking with the media, he described the incident as a heartbreaking moment for Ghana, saying the day marked one of the darkest days in Ghana's recent history. "This is a monumental loss for our dear nation. We have lost visionary leaders, loyal public servants, and gallant compatriots who gave their all in service to Ghana," the Director said.
Dr. Omane Boamah was a leader of great discipline and foresight, he said, stressing that his stewardship at the Ministry of Defence strengthened national security and civil-military relations. Touching on the six others who also lost their lives, including security officers, the YEA boss emphasized that their sacrifices would be remembered as acts of courage and patriotism.
Mr. Smith extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the President of the Republic, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the Ministries affected by the tragedy, as well as Ghanaians in general. He used the opportunity to call on the NDC fraternity to come together for a common goal.
