Hon. Mierra Abrokwah, the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal 2023/2024 National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) Womens Commissioner (WOCOM) has urged her colleague service trained teachers posted in the classroom to be good role models for students.

Speaking with the press, she stressed that they should lead exemplary lives, commit themselves to their work and keep expanding on the knowledge acquired from school.

She humbly appealed to those who were posted in rural areas to work hard and relate well with people in the community to enable every person to benefit from the education they have received.

She stressed that teachers are at the very heart of educational development in our municipality. “They form a critical and indispensable part of the education sector in our nation and, therefore, deserve commendation and encouragement for their roles in driving national development and progress.”

She therefore appealed to the government to introduce a special incentive service allowance for teachers who accept postings to deprived communities across the country.

“If classrooms have no teachers, academic performance will suffer, especially in rural areas, hence the need to introduce incentives to motivate teachers to give their best she said.
